Out of the printer, page by page

Nando’s logbook with everything in it, Flocke’s diary and the plan for the yard – real pages, A4 for a ring binder, from October 2026.

Cover: the photo of a chestnut with a blaze, on it a white panel with ‘Nando’, ‘Logbook’, ‘2026/27’
The cover: name and period, with or without a photo. With a photo, the name sits in a white panel – at the top, in the middle or at the bottom.
Empty week spread: on the left notes for the week and Monday to Wednesday, on the right Thursday to Sunday
A week, still empty: on the left the notes and Monday to Wednesday, on the right Thursday to Sunday.
The same week filled in by two people: cough values circled, medication and meals ticked, temperatures, notes and initials on every day
The same week after seven days in the stable, filled in by two people – each with her own initials.
The ‘Initials’ page: at the top the cough scale from 0 to 4, below it three names with their initials
At the front the cough scale, and who makes entries under which initials. You write the names by hand, because the people who help change.
The filled-in feeding plan: valid from 1 Oct 2026, hay, oats, minerals and carrots by meal
The feeding plan with ‘valid from’, twice per page – for the day the ration changes.
The ‘Worming / vaccination’ table with three entries: date, product, next due
At the back the tables for the vet, the farrier, worming and vaccination, and weight.

One line per day

Every day starts with the same line: the date, a scale from 0 to 4 and three boxes – rest, eating, work. Below it the medication with its dose, morning, midday and evening to tick off, next to it the temperature, then the meals and lines for everything else. On the far right a box for initials: whoever made the entry signs it off.

The scale doesn’t have to be about coughing – lameness, itching, free faecal water: you name it yourself, and the boxes and meals too. Leave out what you don’t need: medication, temperature, the feed line, the plans at the front.

The logbook runs from the month you choose, for three, six or twelve months; half a year fits the stabling season from October to March. The name is at the top of every page.

The diary

Flocke’s diary has only days and lines, and note pages at the back instead of the tables. You decide what goes in: what you did together, how it went, what the riding instructor said. If you like, add a mood from ‘awful’ to ‘great’.

Cover: the photo of a pale pony lying in a meadow, above it a white panel with ‘Flocke’, ‘Diary’, ‘2027’
The diary’s cover – the same panel, a different word.
The first week in the diary, filled in by hand: snow eaten, a walk to the pond, New Year’s Eve in the stable, a New Year’s ride and the first canter off the lunge
Flocke’s first week, written by Mia: from the snow to the first canter off the lunge.

For the yard

Every horse gets its own logbook. Who made the entry is there as initials on every day; who should come is at the front in the ‘Who comes when’ plan. For the next horse you open a finished logbook in your account, change the name and photo and create it – everything else stays as it was.

The ‘Who comes when’ page for October and November, with initials for morning, afternoon and evening
Who comes when: every day with morning, afternoon and evening, two months per page.
